Both Elk camps sit at around 9,600’ in elevation. We hunt above and below these elevation levels depending on the time of year and what the elk are doing. We can not stress enough the importance of being mentally and physically prepared for your hunt. Your ability to get into position, move through the timber, and mount and dismount your horse will all factor into the success of your hunt. Some
clients do fine with this while others have issues. If possible, we recommend a few days prior to your hunt to better climatize yourself. Regardless, proper prehunt exercise and healthy eating habits will have you in better shape and you will perform better on the mountain.
