We offer fully guided elk hunts for both archery and rifle hunters in Western Wyoming. The unit we hunt has both a limited-quota license and Region W General license. The archery hunting leading up to the rifle opener is one of our favorite times of year to be in the timber.
Every year is a little different, but the hunt typically coincides when the larger bulls are still assembling harems and work well into archery setups. The archery hunt can be hunted on a limited-quota tag or Region W General license with the addition of an archery stamp. Our limited-quota license offers hunters one of the rare chances to hunt elk during the rut with a rifle anywhere in the West.
Make no mistake these rut hunts can be physically demanding. The majority of the bulls we kill, even during rifle seasons, are often at or approaching archery ranges. Regardless of which hunt you choose you need to be prepared to ride and walk. We will hunt you as hard or as easy as you like.
Both camps run high opportunity and success rates year after year.
We limit hunters to (6) to (8) per week depending on specific hunt and time of year. Currently the number of points taking to draw this unit is 4 Plus points based on 2025 drawing odds and license type. We strive to only harvest mature (5) and (6) point bulls, they typically average between 260 to 300.
Our backpack hunts are conducted from a remote wilderness camp that is accessed before and after the hunt by horseback. Camp consists of ultra-light weight tents, titanium stoves, and freeze-dried meals. Often not needed, however, our select area is the only wilderness area in the State of Wyoming where we can “spike” out away from our main camps in pursuit of game. Once harvested, game is typically backpacked to a close, convenient location and from there horses and mules pack you and your harvest out of the backcountry. Hunt lengths vary based on the season and week of your choice, and we typically run high opportunity rates throughout each season. These are fantastic hunts for those individuals who are physically fit and looking to experience a true wilderness backpack hunt. Clients should be prepared to do a considerable amount of walking each day with a pack.

These hunts are a traditional high country mountain horseback hunt, conducted out of wall tents with home cooked meals morning and night. Each morning consists of riding short distances to a couple hours to access your hunt location for the day, often returning after dark depending on where the days hunt took you. We utilize horses each day to access different areas with the best hunting accessed beyond that on foot. This hunt works well for a wide range of clients regardless of age seeking the traditional wilderness horseback hunting experience. Hunt lengths vary based on the season and week of your choice, and we typically run high opportunity rates throughout each season.
